Born in Smyrna, Georgia, 1967, Julia Roberts takes her first real role in the comedy MYSTIC PIZZA by Donald Petrie, and proves herself in the next film, Steel Magnolias from Herbert Ross, in 1989, which earned her her first nominations to the Oscar and Golden Globe. It is with the romantic comedy PRETTY WOMAN by Garry Marshall that she becomes as a global star. The film is the biggest success of 1990 and earned her her second Oscar nomination. She then stars in a wide variety of films such as Flatliners by Joel Schumacher, the thriller Sleeping with the Enemy by Joseph Ruben, Dying Young by Joel Schumacher, The Pelican Brief by Alan J. Pakula alongside Denzel Washington, then Something to Talk About by Lasse Hallström. She was seen in a movie Michael Collins by Neil Jordan, along with Liam Neeson, and the comedy of Woody Allen Everyone Says I Love You. In 1997 she was the star of the film by P. J.
