Janet Jackson, the small sister of the great Michael, made her name known in the large world of the groove. Pretty face, body of dreams, beautiful voice, impossible to imitate today. It is with this album that she comes in the category of the big stars of the American music. In 1989, Janet dedicates her album Rhythm Nation 1814, to the children of the streets and ghettos. The tracks prove to be great songs to be danced to thanks to many great and original videoclips. Her first international tour, in 1990, raises some questions, because she sings from playback. In 1991, she signs an amazing contract with Virgin, for five albums. In 1993, Janet leaves the music industry. Then she comes back in 1997. October 6 of 2007, she moves the whole world with the album The Velvet Rope. This album is a masterpiece. Janet acquired an impressive artistic maturity, that shows from the level of her texts and her voice. Janet then went around the world with a The Velvet Rope Tour. The beautiful singer then releases a collections fo her videos from 1986 to 1996 in a DVD entitled Design of a Decade 1986/1996. In 2001, All For You is released which contains the hits Doesn't Really Matter or Someone To Call My Lover. After 3 years of absence and a shocking performance at Superbowl half time show at the beginning of the year 2004, the artist returns with her eighth album, Damita Jo.
