After studying marketing at Los Angeles, Eva Mendes decided to get into movies. The young actress begins to start making her dream true in 2000, playing one of the victims in the horror film Urban Legends: Final Cut, and then portraying strong women in productions Exit Wounds and Training day. But it was in 2003 that the career of this woman of Cuban origin takes a real boost with the main female role in action movie 2 Fast 2 Furious. While most of her movies are rather dark (the western Once Upon a Time in Mexico, the thriller Out of time), Eva Mendes is also trying to appear in lighter films like Stuck on You by Farrelly brothers or Hitch - comedy in which she gives hard time to the master of seduction played by Will Smith, or Trust the Man, a romance that didn't end up too successful. 2007 marks a new era in her career. She acts a lot, getting many roles in varied genres: the actress joined the fantastic cast of Ghost Rider, adapted from a comic-book, alongside Nicolas Cage, starred in the comedy Trust the Man and most importantly, she won the lead role in Live!, comedy selected at the festival in Deauville 2007, in which she portrays Katy, producing Broadcasting a TV. Of course the movie We Own The Night has to be mentioned as well, where she shares the credits with Joaquin Phoenix and plays Amada Juarez who is involved with Russian mafia in New York.
