Courtney Michelle Harrison (born in San Francisco, California, July 9 1964), artistically known as Courtney Love (current legal name Courtney Michelle Cobain), is an American singer and actress. Her parents were Linda Carroll, a well-known therapist and Hank Harrison, a publicist. Courtney Love was the lead singer and guitarist of the now defunct band Hole. Currently she continues her musical career alone. Love also acts and works as a model. She's the widow of Kurt Cobain (1967-1994) singer of Nirvana, with whom she had a daughter, Frances Bean Cobain. She maintained relationships with the well-known actor Edward Norton and Trent Reznor. She was Billy Corgan's partner (of the band Smashing Pumpkins) before meeting Cobain. Since Hole officially disbanded in 2002, her career wasn't in a good shape, despite being engaged in numerous films. She had problems with drugs and alcohol, so she lots custody of her daughter, Frances Bean. She recovered after being in rehabilitation. For 2008 a new album called "Nobody's Daughter" is expected to be released. Courtney, who lived in Japan, has developed a love for the world of manga, thus collaborating in the creation of the manga "Princess Ai" with other authors of the same genre as Ai Yazawa.
