Drew Barrymore Biography

The daughter of actor John Barrymore and goddaughter of Steven Spielberg, Drew Barrymore had her career choice clear. She was less than a year when she appeared in an advertisement. At two years, she participated in her first TV movie, "Suddenly, Love", and made her debut on the big screen in four years with Altered States (1980) by Ken Russell. This path early leads to the next big step - E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982), a fantasy film which shows a girl binding friendship with an alien, and that gives Drew the the status of a rising star. But that glory too quickly turns against her: her adolescence is marked by drug and alcohol abuse. Then she does some small roles in television series or B movies like thriller Poison Ivy (1992) by Katt Shea. But Batman Forever (1995) and Everyone Says I Love You (1996) marked her return to the front of the film scene, the revival was confirmed with the unexpected success of the horror film Scream (1997). After getting back into the spotlight, Drew Barrymore plays a lovely waitress along Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer (1998), then he meets him again on the set of 50 First Dates (2004). She plays a journalist in search of love in the romance Never Been Kissed (1999), one of the members of Charlie's Angels (2000) and the wife of Ben Stiller in Duplex (2003) directed by Danny DeVito.
