Catherine Bell Biography

Catherine Lisa Bell is an American actress born on August 14, 1968 in London which has starred in the successful series JAG from 1997 to 2005. Bell is the daughter of Scots father and Iranian mother. Her parents were divorced and she moved to Los Angeles, California when she was 3 years old. She obtained citizenship at 12 years. She appeared in several ads at young age. She attended the University California at Los Angeles (UCLA) showing strong interest in becoming a doctor or Bioengineer but left it to be a model. One of her first jobs was as model, in Japan. Her first appearance in film was as a body double for Isabella Rossellini in Death Becomes Her in 1992. In 2003, Bell starred in a supporting role in the comedy Bruce Almighty with Jim Carrey. From then until April 29, 2005, Bell played Lieutenant Colonel Sarah McKenzie on the television series JAG. Recently, we have seen her co-starring in the mini-series The Bermuda Triangle along with Sam Neill, Lou Diamond Philips and Eric Stoltz. This series was produced in 2006. In 2008 she will appear in a new film: 'The Good Witch '. She speaks fluent Persian and English. She married Adam Beason on May 8, 1992, has a daughter, Gemma, who was born on April 16, 2003. Bell has undergone a thyroid cancer which was removed at age 20, which left a scar on the neck.
