Matthew Paige Damon was born on October 8, 1970, in suburban Massachusetts to Nancy Paige, an author and educator, and Kent, an investment banker. His parents split when he was two years old, and his mum raised him and his brother in an area of Cambridge similar to that portrayed as the backdrop to Good Will Hunting. He met there the best mate ever - Ben Affleck The film was nominated for a string of Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and the pair walked off with a pair of Best Screenplay Oscars. After that Matt dropped out of Harvard, and started his fim career for real. Later films include Saving Private Ryan (1998), The Talented Mr Ripley (1999), The Bourne Identity (2002), and its sequel The Bourne Supremacy (2004) and Syriana(2005). Damon is engaged to longtime girlfriend Luciana Barroso.
